Deepak Chhabra is updated with most of the current advanced technologies in the field of cancer surgeries. His special interest is in treatment of gastrointestinal and hepato-pancreato-biliary cancers (cancer of pancreas, liver, bile-ducts and gallbladder).

His usual practice includes all these : :

Major gastric (stomach and food pipe) resections.
Liver resections and radiofrequency ablation for liver tumors.
Pancreatic and colonic (intestine) resections.
Sphincter-saving surgeries for low rectal cancers, breast cancer surgeries, utero-ovarian cancer surgeries, and chemotherapy port placements.

Dr. Deepak Chhabra is a consultant Surgical Oncologist with an extensive experience in cancer surgeries. Though combined modes of treatment are necessary for most of the cancers, Dr. Chhabra strongly believes that an aggressive surgery is the backbone of treatment for all solid organ cancers.

Masters in Surgery from the prestigious T.N. Medical College & B.Y.L Nair Hospital in Mumbai.
Diplomat from the National Board of Examinations & received his specialist onco surgical training at Mumbai.
Passed the Membership examination of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK.
He has a Fellowship in GI surgical Oncology.
First clinical coordinator of the Asia-Pacific Neuroendocrine tumor registry (AP-NET registry) in India.

Experience & Techniques

More than 10 years of association with the Department of Surgical Oncology at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai.
Specialized training in complex Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgeries at Nagoya University, Japan
His research work on gallbladder cancers was in the award paper sessions at the World Congress of IHPBA in 2008.
Invited speaker for surgical oncology discussions in Mumbai and across India.
